Cookies and local storage
DisplayStation uses no advertising cookies and no marketing trackers. Anonymous, cookiefree visit statistics are collected via Cloudflare Web Analytics and cannot identify individual visitors. There is no consent banner, because there is no optional tracking storage for a banner to switch on or off.
On this website
- Language choice is stored in local storage under the key
webtyle-locale-v1after you choose Norwegian or English, or after an automatic choice. - If you have not chosen a language, one visit may call Cloudflare’s
/cdn-cgi/traceand store the country result in session storage. That is a network request to the host, not an advertising cookie. - Views and media you save while signed in are stored on your account, not in this browser.
- The demo stores its view and media in session storage and a separate demo database. That storage is removed from the product when the session ends, and it is not connected to an account.
On the browser player
Android is the player we recommend. The browser at player.displaystation.app is a practical alternative when you control the screen yourself. That address stores the screen setup in the browser so the screen can start again without a new code. The setup is kept in local storage, IndexedDB and the browser cache on that address. It includes the device credential for that screen. It is not an advertising cookie. Clearing browsing data for that address unpairs the screen. The Android player stores the same kind of credential on the device instead.
On the account service
After you sign in, the account service sets an HTTP-only cookie named webtyle_session on the player-service host. It keeps the session for 14 days. The browser script cannot read it. Signing out deletes the server session.
You can remove the website’s language choice in the browser settings. Views and media on an account stay on that account. Clearing the browser does not close the account or the subscription.
