Android
The preferred player. Install it on compatible Android equipment. It stores the setup on the device, keeps the screen awake, and can stay locked down on managed company equipment.
Two ways to run a screen
There are two ways to put DisplayStation on a screen. The Android player is the one we recommend. Open a browser at player.displaystation.app when you control that screen yourself.
Software only. Bring your own screen and player hardware.
The Android app is being prepared for Google Play. Get a test build while the store listing is finished.
Same account, two players
Both show a six-digit code. An administrator approves it in the account, names the screen and assigns a view. Android is the one we recommend when the screen should keep running on its own.
The preferred player. Install it on compatible Android equipment. It stores the setup on the device, keeps the screen awake, and can stay locked down on managed company equipment.
A practical alternative when you control the screen yourself. Open player.displaystation.app on a computer, Mac or Samsung TV you look after. It cannot lock the device, start at boot, or stop a TV from sleeping. Set the address as the start page and turn the screen saver off.
On Android
On the player we recommend, a six-digit code connects the device to your account. Name the screen so it is easy to recognise, then choose what it should show.
Get a test build for the compatible Android device and install it. Start it to see the pairing code.
With an active screen license, enter the code in screen management. Give the screen a name and assign a view.
Publish your content and check the actual screen, including any websites that need network access or a sign-in.
Match the installation to the place
Runs full-screen and keeps the screen awake. Suitable where people at the device are allowed to leave the app. The ordinary app does not lock down the whole device.
For company-owned equipment managed through Android Enterprise. Your device-management system must allow the managed player in lock-task mode. Boot startup belongs to this managed setup.
The screen keeps showing what you last published, including images and video. Websites and news feeds update again when the connection returns.
Pages must allow embedding. Some services block embedded views or need a separate sign-in on the player. Test your exact source on your intended device; DisplayStation does not bypass access controls.
A locked view is read-only on the screen. Changes are made in administration and sent out when you publish. Android is the player that can also be locked down, through device management. The browser cannot lock the computer or TV, so it fits when you already control who can reach that screen.
14 days. Two screens. Your own content. No payment card.
